'70s when Woo started as director, he made comedies and martial
arts films. Young Dragons was his debut film financed by his friend. Later
Golden Harvest bought it and offered Woo a job. '80s. New decade, old tricks. Now Woo was famous for his comedies. Woo was running out of ideas and but he was forced to direct comedies only. Woo was becoming desperate but then A Better Tomorrow changed everything and John Woo became the action director. Early '90s. Woo made his last Hong Kong movies so far. After Hard Boiled Woo decided to fulfill his dream and moved to Hollywood. Moving to new country, culture an way of making movies wasn't without problems but Woo has become one of the top directors in Hollywood. 2000-Woo continues his work in Hollywood. |
