RUN, TIGER, RUN (1985) Script from the novel The Prince and the Pauper, 1981 by Mark Twain. This comedy was shot in Taiwan just like The Time you Need a Friend. People at the Cinema City were thinking that John Woo was much too old-fashioned, so Woo was sent to Taiwan to shoot some pictures. In Taiwan Woo managed to direct only these two forgettable comedies. And he also worked as associate producer on two dramas for Taiwanese directors. When he returned to Hong Kong after Run Tiger Run, he didn't know if he'll get another change to make movies. And it was even more difficult when Run Tiger was a commercial failure. The estranged son of a billionaire is shocked to discover that his father will not be leaving him the family fortunes. He devises a hilarious plan to kill the sole heir which consequently results a chaos.
