John Woo book in Italian
Italian movie critics Marco Bertolino and Ettole Ridola are writing a book on
John Woo. It will be issued this summer by Le Mani, which is a very good
publishing house. The book will be a 100-120 page essay about Woo filmography,
favourite themes, etc. with a bunch of photos. There will be an introduction
by Rick Baker (which we will translate in Italian) and another introductory
note by Alberto Barbera, a famous Italian movie critic. The title will be
"Redemption through violence: the cinema of John Woo".

John Woo and Nike commercial
Woo will direct a tv commercial for Nike shoes!
John Woo was seen in south, at Rio de Janeiro's International Airport, to
be precise, during the Holidays to film the Nike-Brazilian Soccer Team
campaign to air around May - a few months before World Cup-France 98.
You will soon see (Flamengo's forwarder) Romario, (Internazionale di
Milano's forwarder) Ronaldo, (A.C. Milan's midfielder) Leonardo and (Vasco da
Gama's goalie) Carlos Germano perform some great stunts during a would-be
check in for the team's flight to France. Seems like Woo has a thing with
airports.
