We just got some news about Mission Impossible 2:
1. The shooting is running late
2. a Camera operator have been fired
3. Tom Cruise want a smaller role in the sequel, as he is playing..."The
team leader" the thing that, Jon Voight played in the first film!

Shooting is running late really, as I told in May
Mission Impossible 2 could be ready for audience in Fabruary 20, 2000. But the
date is not confirmed so changes are very possible.

New John Woo DVD releases
In Japan (Region 2, NTSC)
More news updates for May
news, Japanese DVD relases of John Woo films and many other hong kong films
are not the same releases as their Hong Kong counterparts. Most of the films
released by Mega Star are the same one, but Better Tomorrow 1 & 2 are real
anamorphic releases in Japan. Also Police Story are different, Japanese
releases have less subtitles than Hong Kong versions. Films released by
Universe (The Killer, Once a Thief) are also anamorphic in Japan. So far I
haven't heard if Bullet in the head was released in Japan. So Japan versions
have better quality, especially if you have widescreen Tv or are planning to
get one some day. But of course they are also much more expensive and region
coded (code 2 for Japan / Europe).

There are two new good John Woo sites out there worth checking, although

A Better Tomorrow, a cool John Woo
web page in Korean has been online for some time now but has got completely
new layout lately. Made for MSIE 4 or later and may have funny side effects if
you try to use any other browsers. But with MSIE 4 or later looks real cool.
The Big Hit rental video release in
Finland
Big Hit has been available on rental video for some time in Finland. I just
saw some records on local newspapers and Big hit rental was no 4 in that list.
Rush Hour with Jackie Chan was no 2 on same 'box office list'.
